Baby, Mummy and the Blog – nine month update

Another monthly round up is ready. Late again… but better late than never! Thanks June, you’ve been great.

This month, June, marks nine months in, nine months out for our baby boy. I can honestly say (wait for it, here comes the clique) that it has been the best 18 months of my life.

It’s been exciting; at times overwhelming, exhausting and emotional; I’ve cried/worried/panicked like never before; but I’ve also smiled, laughed and loved like never before. My heart literally hurts as it’s bursting with so much love and pride.

What a ‘journey’ (hate that word!) we’ve been on!

As part of Daddy’s Christmas present we got him tickets to RAF Cosford Air Show. Although the weather really couldn’t decide what to do and we sat some time sat shivering under a brolly (in June!!), we had a great day!

We took baby for his first ever glamping weekend in Lincoln. Luckily, the weather was on our side and we managed to squeeze in a trip to the seaside too. Whilst we were there it was Daddy’s first Father’s Day with little man Freddie. Their bond is so strong and it melts my heart watching them together.

I wanted to a) get fitter b) not feel like I’m really doing exercise and c) have a looking after mummy hour each week – so I’ve jumped onto the Zumba bandwagon and am loving it! Who doesn’t want a (sober) dance fest on a Thursday night?? However, I’ve come to the painful realisation that… mama has two rather large left feet and therefore can’t dance (but who the hell cares? Not me!) Bring on party time!

On a more serious note… I’ve been made Science Coordination at school – this is positive I’m sure (but more work, and definitely not more money). Feeling like I need to make a good go of it… but also rather out of my depth. It’s surprised me somewhat how being away from work on maternity leave can zap your confidence levels, add to that, that I work part time without full classroom responsibilities (as I do PPA cover) and I’m left feeling very much like I’m in no position to tell other people what to do. I know it’s time to step up, prove myself and own this shit (but that’s actually really hard!)

It was Baby Shower time in June too.

I’m so excited to be an Auntie for the first time. I’m also thrilled that with only 10 months between them Freddie and his cousin will get to grow up together- I can only imagine the mischievous to come in the next few years! Look out for baby’s arrival in next months update.

The blog

Well, what can I say? Another neglectful month for the blog. I’m seriously upset with myself for not being more blogging proactive- thinking it’s time for an organiser?? (Any excuse for new stationary!) Perhaps a life timetable?? Or just a boot up the arse??

How does everyone make the time to blog? Advice warmly welcomed!!

  1. My little one just turned 9 months in June as well. 🙂 It’s crazy how much has changed in the past year. (another cliche for you. haha)
I am right with you in the moms who can’t dance category. Haha. I do love a good Zumba class though. Looking good isn’t the important part – having fun and moving is all it really takes. 🙂

  2. Time certainly flies. It feels like yesterday that mine was 9 months old and I was starting a new job. He starts school this September!! Frightening stuff! #BloggerClubUK

    1. It’s true what they say – the days are long but the years are short… I can’t imagine my baby going to school, but I do know I’ll shed a tear or two. Thanks for reading Jaki
